The L3 Broadhead

Introducing the L3 Broadhead. I wanted a project that would keep my 3D art skills sharp for school and to learn more on my own. So I took an old LEGO model that I had created years ago as a kid and decided to make it in a digital 3D environment (with a few tweaks and improvements of course).

Creating this ship took a lot of research and dedication to complete (still not completely done though...). I wanted to make sure that the ship could at least fly both in space and in an atmospheric environment. This required researching real fighter jets, space crafts (both real and fictional) and doing a little guesswork here and there.

The L3 Broadhead, a space fighter ship built to be highly customizable to fit the needs of any mission. With 4 sets of mountable weapons and 7 different adaptable modifications, this fighter has everything a pilot needs to get any job done. Above you will find several images of this ship, complete with notes providing information on how it works and what all the components are. (This paragraph was all fictional by the way). You may be wondering why I named it as such, well, the L is for my name (first letter) and 3 is my favorite number. I chose to name this ship the Broadhead because of its sharp edges and cutting edge design. A broadhead is the tip of an arrow, and it is the first thing that strikes a target after it is shot. So, this ship is the first thing in a fleet (an arrow if you will) that will strike an enemy, and then the rest follows.

All in all, this project was both a lot of fun and stressful, but I learned a lot from it and I'm proud of how it turned out. Thanks to all who will see this gallery, and thanks for reading this description if you did :)
